Scope

This policy describes DealDog's mobile app, public website, and supporting services. In this policy, “DealDog,” “we,” and “us” refer to the service operated under the DealDog name.

DealDog is a deal discovery and recommendation service. It is not the retailer, seller, payment processor, or fulfillment provider for purchases completed on third-party sites.

Information you provide

Account and profile

When you create an account, DealDog handles your email address, chosen name or username, account identifier, authentication state, and related account metadata. Password credentials are handled through the authentication systems used by the service.

Preferences and alerts

You may provide categories, preferred retailers, budget ranges, deal-temperature preferences, free-text interests, notification choices, alert queries, keywords, maximum prices, and store filters. DealDog uses these details to configure the product and personalize results.

Feedback and support

DealDog handles votes, dismissals, hidden-store or category choices, deal reports, and other feedback you submit. If you contact support, we receive the message, contact details, and any diagnostic or account information you choose to include. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or payment-card details.

Activity and recommendation information

DealDog records product interaction to operate and improve the service. Depending on how you use the app, this can include:

• Saved deals and saved collections.
• Search queries, result counts, and search history.
• Deal views, clicks, saves, unsaves, shares, alert clicks, and recommendation impressions.
• Votes, dismissals, “not interested” feedback, and hidden stores or categories.
• Recommendation request identifiers, rank or position, source, and serving time.
• Streaks, badges, and daily activity where those features are enabled.
• Deal and alert identifiers associated with an interaction.

Some of this activity is linked to your account. DealDog also handles aggregate or unauthenticated interaction records where an account identifier is not available.

Device, notification, and diagnostic information

If you enable notifications, DealDog receives an Apple push-notification token and stores it with platform, account, activation, and last-seen information so alerts can reach your device. Apple also processes notification delivery through Apple Push Notification service.

Retailer-link requests can include platform and user-agent information. Production web infrastructure can also process ordinary request information such as IP address, request path, time, and security logs. The app measures elapsed time and cache performance on the device for operational diagnostics. The current app does not include a third-party advertising or crash-reporting SDK.

Information stored on your device

DealDog keeps app settings and local product state on the device. Examples include appearance and notification preferences, onboarding choices, visible categories, saved collection identifiers, local votes and dismissals, activity history, deal-vault snapshots, cached alerts, push-token cache, and bounded deal or image caches.

DealDog stores its active sign-in session in the iOS Keychain. On upgrade, the app checks for an older app-local session record, migrates a valid record into Keychain, and removes the older value.

Signing out clears several account-scoped stores, but it does not guarantee removal of every local preference or cache. Removing the app causes iOS to remove the app container, subject to Apple's device and backup behavior.

How DealDog uses information

DealDog uses information to authenticate accounts, provide feeds and search, save deals, create alerts, deliver notifications, remember preferences, personalize recommendations, measure product performance, detect abuse, keep the service secure, answer support requests, and improve deal quality.

First-party analytics such as clicks and recommendation impressions help rank deals and evaluate features. This is different from Apple-defined tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. DealDog does not currently use the information for cross-app advertising tracking, and the iOS app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

Retailer and affiliate links

When you open a deal, DealDog records the selected deal and may record the related alert, account, platform, time, and user agent before redirecting you. The destination can be a retailer, a deal-community page, or an affiliate or referral redirect. Some links may result in compensation to DealDog.

Affiliate attribution is not automatically Apple-defined tracking. DealDog does not currently combine these events with third-party advertising profiles. Retailers, deal communities, and referral providers operate their own sites and may collect information under their own privacy policies after you leave DealDog.

Service providers

Verified service providers and infrastructure in the current code and release configuration include:

• Supabase for authentication and server-side user records such as profiles, preferences, saved deals, alerts, votes, feedback, engagement state, search history, and push tokens.
• DigitalOcean for production web and API infrastructure.
• Apple for iOS distribution, platform services, and push-notification delivery.

DealDog may use configured Google or OpenAI tools to process deal-listing content and support optional query, recommendation, or alert features. Whether a particular workflow runs depends on service configuration. This processing supports DealDog functionality and is not used for third-party advertising.

Data storage and retention

Data can be stored locally on your device, in Supabase, and in the DealDog production backend. Some account and activity information may exist in more than one of these systems while DealDog provides the related feature.

DealDog has not published a fixed retention period for every record. Some records may remain while an account is active or for longer operational, security, fraud-prevention, legal, or service-integrity needs. Records without an implemented cleanup or deletion path may remain until the service removes them. We will not describe a record as automatically expiring unless that behavior is implemented and verified.

Account deletion

The in-app control under Profile, Settings, Account controls permanently deletes the authenticated DealDog account after email and password confirmation. The service removes the Supabase authentication identity and account-linked records covered by the deletion workflow, including profiles, preferences, saved items, alerts, votes, feedback, searches, interactions, recommendations, and device tokens. The app then signs the user out and clears account-specific local caches.

DealDog keeps a pseudonymous deletion-operation receipt so a failed or retried workflow can be handled without retaining the deleted account identifier after completion. Security logs, support correspondence, or backups may remain where needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or service-integrity purposes. DealDog does not currently publish a fixed backup-expiry period.

If you cannot access the in-app control or a deletion attempt does not complete, email support@dealhunter.app. We may ask for information needed to verify that you control the account.

Security

DealDog uses HTTPS for the production API, account authentication, access controls, and platform security features. No service can promise absolute security. If you believe your account or data is at risk, contact support@dealhunter.app.

Children's privacy

DealDog is a general-audience shopping discovery service and is not designed for children who cannot lawfully consent to account use in their location. If you believe a child provided personal information without required permission, contact us so we can review the account and available removal steps.

Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion. Send a request to support@dealhunter.app. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and will assess the request under applicable law. The in-app account deletion process is separate from other privacy-rights requests.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as DealDog's account, retention, deletion, or service-provider practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
